Well, my happiness at getting my Electra running after it's 25+ year rest has been interrupted by an oil leak from between the fins on the right head.

Can the gearbox be removed from a 1956 Dominator 99 without having to remove the gearbox and engine as a unit ? I.e. leave the engine in position.

I want to test the output of the alternator on my Mk2a Commando, using a multimeter can anyone tell me what readings to expect assuming all is well?
A friend has an 850 Mark 2A and it is jumping out of 4th gear when the bike gets to about 50mph (80kph). Either into neutral or sometimes back into 3rd. I've done some research but most relate to jumping out of 1st gear.
I phoned ANIL up with a list of bits I needed and went down to collect them 2 hours later. Although they are busy, there was time for a short natter.
All the parts were clearly identified, well wrapped, and fitted perfectly.

What ammeter was fitted to the 1959 Jubilee. Was it Lucas, ive seen a couple of Jubilees that look like they have had a Miller type unit fitted.

My neighbor's XS650 wouldn't start the other day and I suspected a bad battery. I hooked jumper cables to it from my 2004 Toyota pickup but got no spark. He put a new battery on it, got spark and it ran like a champ.
