I amrestoring a 1939mod.18 and have a question to Norton Expers: what type ofmudguards are usedon this bike?
Anyone see any reports as to where these bikes went? I think the auction was about 6 months ago.
After the auction I have never seen any articles about any being put on the road, etc,etc.

You were right when you said the Slimline Tank Badge screw holes are 3BA. I have cleared them all out.

I have taken delivery of a 1974 Commando with 26 miles on the clock never registered in US or now UK. I have had it serviced and all important rubber components changed including the tyres (keeping the originals).
I've got an MKIII Commando that I'm just starting the restoration on. I realize that I have much larger things to fix than this, but does anyone know of a source for the buttons on the control switches?

Whilststripping the engine down over the weekend, I was shocked to see that there was no oil wayhole in the paper base gasket, that was stuck to the cylinder base.
I have a Slimline Tank that has the Tank Badge fixing screw holes filled.
I have hooked out as much as I can and now want to (carefully) run a tap down the threads to clear the rest out.

I require a new Timing case patent badge. The NOC shop has some but the the brass badge appears to have a RED background rather thanone in BLACK paint.Does anyone know if this is just a protection layer or are they really red?
I have a 1961 Dommi 99 and the clutch is pretty shot, as well as being from a pre '59 bike. The bike is ridden regularly andenthusiastically, butnot as hard as when I was a young bloke 45 years ago!

I am trying to fit a belt drive to my 1950 plunger ES2. The problem is that when the clutch is pulled in, it lifts the outer case off. I have even tried 'packing out' the areas where the inner chaincase mounts i.e.
