Timing Case Patent Badge Colour

Forums

I require a new Timing case patent badge. The NOC shop has some but the the brass badge appears to have a RED background rather thanone in BLACK paint.Does anyone know if this is just a protection layer or are they really red?

A picture can be viewed on the site in the: NOCShop /Spares /heavyweight /Transfers /HOME T_001615 /4255? /badge patent etc.

Many thanks if you can tell me.

I have the aswer now. They are red and they are the later type.

Neil Shoosmith, who does a great job minding the NOCSHOP sent me this reply:

"The Patent badges are only available in red from our suppliers, I did enquire about black but we would have to order a 1000"

Its a pity that so many have to be ordered, I wonder how long it would take to sell them all, even worldwide? The trouble is, many owners will have some reluctance to remove their originals even if thelettering details are worn off them, for fear of having a difficult removal job as sometimes the rivets come out easily sometimes they don't.
