Hi Guys - I can't find the part number for the hollow threaded shaft onto which the primary chaincase retaining nut screws for a '54 ES2.
I am having trouble logging in as below:
The steering lock (when engaged) misses the welded on lug on the frame. It would need to be about a 1/4" lower to locate properly. See attached photo. Does this indicate there is something amiss with the way the forks have been assembled?
Just purchased a 1971 Norton Commando and just starting to learn about the bike.
Hi, I have not worked on my 1974 850 for a while and I have misplaced some wiring diagrams and my Norton workshop manual!
Hi there am new to club, and interested in Commando 850 MK 111 on basis that might be best as a first bike on basis it maybe bit more modern and usable than earlier ones?

Dear all,
The oil pressure gauge (Smiths Eureka) on my Model 7 sits in the petrol tank. Its dial has visibly been painted in black and yellow..
How do you open the oil pressure gauge without breaking its glass and ring?
I fitted an 18" Dominator rear wheel a good few years ago after having the rim offset changed for the Commando.
My 51 ES2 came with a support bracket and clip on the header pipe that mounts on an extension of the bolt passing through the front engine plate cover to the prop stand. The end of this bolt is formed into an eyelet.
Can anybody with the relative experience, give me some idea as to the toll road fees for a van from Calais to Cesanatico? and the scope for avoiding the toll roads but still make good progress. Any areas to avoid? Best Alps crossing point?

On the attached page from the manual, the main jet sizes seem wrong. When the 650 and 750 use the same monobloc, the jet size goes up for the 750. With the concentric the jet size seems to go down. Is the manual correct?

Hi all what does S H in a circle on a piston crown mean? It's on a 1934 C J .thanks Ian.
I am rebuilding the front wheel on my 1956 ES2 and have stripped the layers of hammerite from the hub and it appears to be half steel and halve alloy. Is this right? Obviously it will need painting or stove enamelling - any advice please?
Here I am again guys. Having sorted the tappets/exhaust lifter probs and taken it fir a spin I was not convinced that the ignition setting was correct. I was getting popping and banging donw the exhaust on overrun.
Hi,
We have been having trouble organising a breakdown vehicle for the International in Italy. I know it is very unlikely to be required but it is best to be prepared.
Is anyone in possesion of the dimensions for the front seat bracket of a 1955 Model 7? I have purchased the saddle from Lieghtons in Birmingham and can recommend a quality product. The bracket appears to have a complex angle.
Having found the cause of clutch drag to be an indented clutch centre I set about removing it. The Haynes manual says to undo the nut, withdraw the push rod and remove the clutch centre.

Can anyonerecommend the best oil for my newly aquired 1936 Norton 50? Presume I need a straight 30? And where to get it? And what tyre pressures...both tyres front & rear are 3.25-19's.
Having recently seen the new James Bond film Spectre did I get a very fleeting glimpes of a Norton 961. It was in the seen of Q's workshop while he was showing Bond the Aston Martin.
I couldn't help laughing when I read Alan's article in Roadholder, not for any cynical reasons but because it brought back so many memories.
