Just done a wheel alignment check on my 1974 Commando 850 and discovered the front and rear wheels are not parallel.
I haven't noticed any obvious handling problems.
I have an ex-race rolling chassis which has no frame number, the original lower left tube had been replaced with a section to carry oil for chain lube, and with it the gusset plate had been changed.

I have an ES2 1953 which has a decent engine, gearbox and frame. I would like to restore the machine with a cafÃ? racer look. I wondered if anyonecould give meadvice regarding suppliers for tank/seat and other parts.

My Dommie has just been joined by a very early BSA Thunderbolt.
She is a non runner, but has had a top end rebuild. It is an electrical problem. I intend to put an electronic ignition on her. Any suggestions of which is best?
I am rebuilding a 1951 ES2, I purchased in bits (never again), I am having trouble with assembling the rear hub, it either locks up or is very stiff when placed in the lugs and tightened up.
Recent data on the variety of clutch spring lengths lead me to dismantle my clutch which is 1955 laydown box. The springs were more or less as quoted for length and I reassembled and used by dial gauge to check for equal lift.
Do you know if Norton factory records indicate the colors of the frame, fuel tank, oil tank, battery carrier or tool box, mudguards on a Dominator 88 Wideline 1953?
What were the color choices given to the buyer then?

It seems today that Nortons heavy twins are dying or resurrecting in the form of bitzas , Triton first, or as a source of spares for Norton engines.
The Pillion Footrests on my 1973 MK2 Commando touch the silencers on the bottom. They appear to be fitted correctly. I have the round type rubbers fitted, but have seen a different type that is waisted and flat along the bottom.

I am in the middle of rebuilding my Laydown box for a 1955 Dominator 88, and need to replace all of the bushes, so I need to know which of the available AMC box bushes also fit the Laydown.
looking to get my commando tank and side panels re-sprayed as they are starting to look a bit tatty. I live in north west, Cheshire. done a quick search in the services section and a company called "farrout paintwork" in congleton came up.
I have just stripped my Combat motor down and the camshaft looks fine, but I'm considering fitting a new PW3 camshaft. I would be interested on members views to see whether its worthwhile.
I reside in San Francisco and am nearing completion of a 1971 Dunstall 810 restoration( a real one with 5 speed gearbox, full suite of original accessories and letter from Dunstall factory).

I have a 1954 Model 88 which has an additional number stamped on the crankcase near to the pukka engine number.
This arbnumber sits above the crankcase breather pipe just below the cylinder base.
I was reading through Peter William's book again this morning and I saw what he had to say about the shape of these bearings. When I read it I wished it had been quoted at the time on this forum.
My 63 m50 has been converted to 12v(modern rectifier).
Soon after buying it I experienced running problems which I could not pinpoint.

An old friend of mine who has owned vintage cars and bikes has one 1920 'sracing car that has a rack for plugs to be used only to start up and warm up.With modern plugs I've never considered it.
The key is loose in the crank but ok in the alternator,I assume I will have to file up a stepped key, does anyone supply o/s keys?.
This query refers to the Mk3 Commando, but may overlap earlier models?
Is there a dodge/ruse to fully tightening the bottom oil tank bolt, that which goes upwards through the battery tray extension?
