I had a wee excitement on my '55 Dommie a few days ago - I pulled out the slider, and it came out in my hand. Spilling lots of petrol. Oops. Thumb on the hole, find the escaped tap, and shoved it in. The retaining screw had escaped.
My recently acquired 1956 Dominator 99 is leaking oil from between the cylinder head and the barrel and soon I will have to remove the aluminium head and replace the gasket.

Like many other parts on my Fastback, it turns out that the alternator stator has been competently (stress, competently) bodged by someone lacking either cash or access to correct parts (see pictures).
Has anybody used polycarbonate cage wheel bearings.
Mine is a 1972 commando and I do 500 to 1,000 miles a year on it.
i have an Atlas, 1968. Won’t start and I’m sure it’s a timing issue. The Haynes manual suggests 32 btdc or 28 btdc for Atlas models with 9:1 pistons. I’ve no idea if mine has these so any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Maintenance manual says it a 6 volt 1.5 watt, but does not say what type of cap it goes into. Does anyone know. Ive converted to 12 volt.

Would be grateful for any advice on fitting Commando 2LS front brake on Dominator 99 with 7" forks.
Everything fits except that when tightening front axle the .wheel starts to bind.
I've just rebuilt the clutch on my 1935 Norton Es2 and after final assembly have noticed that the rear of the clutch basket is badly rubbing the inner chain case. Has anyone any idea why?
I have a 1959 Dommi 99 to which a belt drive modification has been made. This involves a Commando clutch assembly. With the correct tool I sucessfully dismantled the clutch, but now I have to put it together again.
Slimline frame - There are two sets of holes at the top/back of the frame, and the rear shocker always goes in the front ones.
I think that the bolts for the spool-spacers for the rear guard go through the rear set of holes.

I'm looking for contacting interested parties that what to help with trading parts or restorable 850 MK lll bikes.
The clutch frees quite easily on second kick, but when the machine is in motion it drags causing sometimes difficult gear changing.
