Is it symmetrical or is it handed , ie. does it matter which way round you insert it?

I've just sent the following query to AN, but pending their reply, I'd be interested to hear what others think.
I get annoyed when I am sold shoddy parts....
The concentrics on my Dommie have viton tipped needles, and don't flood even with the fuel on for hours. But the 276 inverted arranged needle allows the chamber to overflow in minutes.
I took my '64 Jubilee for a short test ride today after fitting a new battery. I could only select first and a second gear. I was sure I had checked that all gears selected before I put the engine back in the frame but perhaps I did not.
The oil delivery into the oil tank at a fast tickover on my 1956 Dominator 99 is a continuous full stream.
I've had an anti drain valve on my Commando for ages with no problems at all and thinking about fitting one to my 19S (1956). As the bike is used infrequently it's a nuisance to drain the crankcase before every ride, and I like the "fit and forge
I am having issues with my 1972 Commando. It won't rev past 4,000 rpm. Can someone tell me what the correct carb set up is for the Combat engine, jet sizes, needle position etc. Thank you
Whats the inner and outer cable size. I need a cable with 1/4" barrel to suit the throttle.

I'm just about to tackle changing my gearbox sprocket, the first time I've done this job in 40 years (no, the sprocket's not that old—just a long time since I last had a Commando).
I have been given a Honda VFR 1000 firestorm ve twin which I have to collect . This will be my first non classic bike !.

I think the battery of my '64 Jubilee has died as it is not holding charge when off the bike and with nothing connected to it.
Does anyone use a torque wrench to tighten the engine sprocket and clutch basket? If so what should i tighten it to on my '35 Es2? Be nice to have some idea instead of just guessing as I usually do. Many thanks .

My gearbox has a leak from the kickstart shaft if I take off the outer cover to replace the seal 04-0005 , I,m thinking I might just as well

Can anyone tell me what the cable adjuster thread is on '50s Norton main control cables?

Browsing the Norvil catalogue and noticed that Hepolite pistons are priced at 83 pounds and another anonymous brand at 155 pounds, nearly double.Can someone please explain- what is so special about the latter pistons.

In my efforts to match up a "pair" of carburettors I have come into posession of 2 carbs that are, on the face of things, physically the same.
great ride out last week, starting and charging well [thanks to Tony Cooper and A.O.]
But he ride was spoilt by the clutch....worked fine to start with then gradually got more difficult to change gear, finding neutral was horrendous.
