Here is a fun bit of obscure info:

The last big bike by Floyd Clymer to wear the Indian logo is the most mysterious. Only one prototype was made, shown below. This was a Norton 750 in an Italjet frame (a bit of a copy of the famous Norton Featherbed frame apparently). The disc brakes are Campagnolo, cable operated. The same Italjet fenders seen on the Horex-Indian and with a BMW headlamp (my 1970 Italian Laverda had one), and a custom fuel tank. A beautiful sports bike.

At first, I thought you had gone daft on us then I clicked on the link, sure enough, it is a Norton twin, an Atlas most likely. I remember old Floyd's book store down on Virgil Ave in the Rampart area of Los Angeles. I thought Floyd had played with using a Royal Enfield interceptor engine in a Tatarini frame, I know he used a Velocette unit in some of his bikes. Thanks for the tid bit of rarity.

For my benefit, also anyone else who is wondering, just how did you manage to have that photo appear directly in your last message please?

I've always felt it has beenone of the less appealing aspects of this message board, having to click on a link, view an image on a separate page thengo backto the message.

What's the secret?

(that's just a figure of speech, I know it's not really a secret............in anticipation of the usual response from the rarified atmosphere)

I wasn't originally able to do it from the website I found the pic, but after I downloaded onto my photobucket page I discovered if I right clicked on the image, I had the option to "copy" the image , then I "pasted" it directly onto the message board , I feel so hi tech now :)

Well done Eugene! Not only does this mean we don't have to mess around with seperate links, it also means we don't have tomess around reducing our photo's to 100Kb!!! One question to those out there - why is it when I first typed this (it failed to 'post') there was an 'Insert Image' icon (a little tree) in the tool bar which has now mysteriously disappeared?

Nice bike - when was thw photo taken?

Floyd Clymers bike projects came to a rather sudden end in January 1970.His main big bike production was the Velo engine and box model( about 150),if you discount the Minarellis. He also owned Cycle World mag,which gave him a good vehicle for promotion of his projects. Regards John.
