I have had my rebuilt Commando on the road for about 6 months now and with a new frame and isolastics, good tyres and suspension etc. It still tends to weave around too much for my liking at 80 and above.

Great news, my ad for a Model 7 oil tank resulted in a response the same day, and now one is on the way. Not sure how to delete the item, maybe someone can tell me how. On to my next question, tank colour on a '53 Model 7.

I have just ordered one for the fourth time now (albeit many years apart) because the worm drive fails.I have checked that the unit sits properly on the internal spacer against the wheel bearing but have no other ideas.Has anyon

ES2 tank badge screws

After removing the paint from a recently acquired ES2 fuel tank I discovered the tapped holes for the round 'Norton' tank badges. I haven't been able to identify the thread form or find any screws to fit.

Optional exhaust

Does anyone have a link or some specific information about the different types of exhausts for the 961. Long, short is there a black chrome one for the SF model? What about availability in the US?

My local ( 2 1/2 hrs. away ) dealer called this morning to tell me he was getting a Silver single seat SF 961 before Nov 15. He said it was mine if I still wanted one. Of course I said yes.

Well Maybe time for the New and newish Norton motorcycles to have a Different web page apart from the vintage and classic machines as the biggest part of Nortons Are of the Vintage and Classic era.

Positive or negative?

Just bought a voltage regulator at Kemton and I picked up positive earth version. Prewar Norton was negative (like modern bikes) but if I repolarise the dynamo all the wiring colours will be wrong (red negative...) Are there any other drawbacks?
