Obtained solid state rectifier from NOC spares. No instructions. Printing on one side shows a + for one of the terminals. But where do the other three fit (one from h/l switch(-) and two from alternator.) Its positive earth.

I know that my oil bath is likely to leak a bit, but I'd like to make an effort to limit it! Is there any sort of seal behind the clutch.

Can anyone identify a pair of pistons for me please? They have the following cast-in internal markings;

Hi, well after a gap of 40 years I've bought myself another Jubilee (on ebay) and its in kit form. Because it's not totally original I'm not fussed about making a few period mods

I had a problem of the bike dropping out of top gearon my Model 7 and after trawling the net I came across this pearl of wisdom from Ken Macintosh (NZ) some years ago, worth checking out.

Having completed a 3 year build from virtual scratch on a 8 year Garden neglected Commando basket case (including myself to take it on) I rode from home to old haunts of youth a 30 mile ride.

I am taking the Commando for its first run in 4 months on Saturday and can't wait.

Just spent a couple hours stripping the carbs and with some carb cleaner and a guitar string ive got 800 rpm tickover and no spitting back or stalling on pickup and these pair have got 21000 miles on them!!

Can anyone advise how to remove the Lucas Badge in the MCH61 headlight shell? Would like to remove to repaint the shell, but can't see how it comes out (without breaking!).

I've come to put the plungers back together on my ES2 and found that the springs don't fit in the new covers I bought.

The dealer finally delivered my bike today. It was about3C outside and the bike had been sitting 5 days but it started right up. It smoked badly the first 2 minutes. I put about 50 miles on the bike and it ran great.

Having a look on the Motorcyclenews website today I see there's a piece about how Prince William visited a number of bike stands at the NEC Show, including Norton where there's a good picture of HRH sitting on the TT bike.

Pretty much ready to go; bodges removed (see previous post), ready to order front brake cable. Checking with various suppliers, I find the brake cable clevis pin (that links cable to brake arm) offered in two configurations.

Does any one know a way of removing ignition stator/cam it says in book remove retaining bolt and insert another bolt to remove cam etc or any one know the length and thread or any were that sells such a tool.Keith

I am in the process of fitting a Norvil belt drive to my `66 650SS and have fitted up the clutch drum assembly onto the gearbox shaft, tightened the nut but have now noticed the hub has a definite "wobble" or excessive "run out".

I am trying to restore a Navigator but am in need of several bits i.e tank badges, oil tank, toolbox cover and seat to really get underway.

Can anyone help please?

Norton Jubilee.

There is one going for nearly £2000.00 on Ebay and its incomplete! They asked nearly £3000.00 previous entry. They think it may be the oldest Jubilee, its not mine is older, No. 81421.

After stripping down my rear hub I found that the thread in the hub was damaged and the new lock ring thread would not engage. I'm sure I could tap the thread, but can you get hold of a tap for this.

Well for your information the 88SS years started in early April 1961. to late 1966.

I am going to see my "new" 961SF which just hit the US last week and came out of the crate Friday. On my paperwork the bike is listed as a 2013.

Tomorrow I am taking a road trip to finally see my 961SF and finalize the transaction. As the forecast high is 35F ( 2C ) I don't think I will be making the 3 hour ride home but I do hope for a short ride.

I have 2 slimline frames, one has got a standard stud, the other has a 16mm (sorry the micrometer says 0.62 inch, so I don't know the imperial size) I believe the heavy duty one was used for a triton.

Hi. I have a 1964 Norton 650SS and I want the Valve Seats replaced. I'm looking for recommendations (by personal experience) of people in the South who could do this for me.

I have just started a restoration on a what I believe is a 1962 Norton 650SS, the title says 1963 but that could have been when it was sold. the frame and engine #'s do match 104735 beside the vin # to the right is 18 stamped.
