Norman White is first class, but you will need quite deep pockets! However, one could argue that if he does it then you won't need it doing twice, so he's probably value for money.

Not sure where you are Paul but I do occasional work like this and have done a couple of complete Commandos as well as my own. It's not a business, more a part time thing. Are you looking at a complete strip or partial? I am in Fleet, Hants so if I can be of any help. I do have some time being semi retired!

Hi Keith. The engine hasnt run for 25 plus years.next week Im gonna try and fire her up.Then I will need the engine/box overhauled, checked to spec etc, so that when Ive finished rebuilding the rest of the bike,I can refit. If that seems like something you might want to do that would be great.Im only in essex, so a trip in the van would be no problem!

That's no problem Paul. Does the engine turn over OK? You can try and fire her since the bores will likely need a rebore anyway and hopefully they are not too corroded where the rings have been sitting. If you'd like, contact me on keith.glassborow@ntlworld.com and we can talk a bit further. You do know you have a Commando specialist in Essex don't you? FD motorcycles in Gt Dunmow. Just a thought.

Hi Paul

If you get stuck, I am in Rochford, Essex. I am a one man band working from home. I have restored quite a few Commandos and otherNortons too. (See Nov 2012 calendar)

Hi Paul Coombs

I have just seen this thread and I can fully recommend Paul Nicholls who replied above. He has been in the NOC for many years and was mentioned back in 2011 if you cut and paste to search for this title "

Recommeded repairers in Kent/Sussex???
