Hi, anybody out there know where I might have a chance of getting a piston [ std. or +20] for a 1927 model 18. I have trawled through e bay but no joy. Thanks, Campbell
Can anyone help with sourcing the 3 rear wheel sleeve nuts for a '55 ES2? I've checked in the usual places (RGM/ Burton/NOC/ebay) with no success. Have I now got a problem? Cheers George
Hi A few of us from London are travelling to this event leaving on the 23rd and maybe returning on the 26th. If anyone else is going and wants to meet up be glad to do so. If you haven't been then this is old school road racing close up.
Can anyone advise what grade of aluminium was used to cast Model 7 crankcases please. Being a casting it will be a grade containing silicon but the specific composition would really help me.
thanks
Would folks agree with me, if when fitting new pistons &you find the circlips are a loose fit in the pistons, thatyou should reject either the circlips or the pistons or both?
Hi all,
Being working in the front fork, I?m a bit confused about the position of the oil seal between the bronze bush and the round nut which hold it.
Just seen a double bike rack, at the Begonia Rally, fitted to a 961. Is this in case of a breakdown?!!
I have a 1972 commando and I have an issue on the swinging arm.
The loop that is welded towards the front that you then bold the front of the chain guard to has broken away. The break is a clean one.
Hi, Vancouver B.C. calling. I have just had the good fortune to acquire a 1971 Commando in delapidated, garden shed condition.
I'm hoping that someone can assist me in loaning the L.H.S. pillion footrest mounting plate as shown as part no 2105 in the attached copy of the parts book.
I've just bought a pair of silencers from the club ( brituro cigar type) does anyone know what the thread is in the captive mounting nuts, I kind of expected that it would come with 4 bolts but it didn't!

I did about 60 miles last Saturday and all was fine (apart from the rain...) but Sunday running round locally it seems to be lumpy at low speeds. Plug is very sooty.
Hello All
This event is taking place at various locations around the UK (and worldwide) on Sunday 25 September.
My 1956 19S (Alfin head) has stripped the threads in the exhaust port. Has anyone had this type of repair done recently, and if so who did you use? Did they do a good job?
Hi, the AMAL 375 seems to have been used on a lot of bikes, however the final digits - in my case 375/48 for the Navigator provide the configuration info - unless I am mistaken. This is with respect to the jetting and bore sizes etc.
I have a new seat and the machine has new steel valanced mudguards made as near to the original as possible.
I'm about to make hangers for the silencers using 4 mm stainless steel strip.
hi, I was going to change my tyres to roadrider's 100/100 front and rear but can't seem to locate them. I can only seem to locate 100/90's, have they stopped making the 100/100's?.
is there any real difference anyway?.
It would be really good to get information on some of the bikes illustrated in the moving header on this Forum.
I can't believe that the upcoming event seen right and happening in Witney has not received numerous double entendres???!!!
Do we have any destinations for these two rallies for next year. I'm retiring and plan to do as many rallies as possible next year. Got to get my monies worth out of the electric start.
Would someone be able to help me identify my late uncles Norton bike.

I have been given a 1957 99 engine, and frame. Not knowing why it was put out of service I thought I would have a quick look in the chain case where I found these two bits of metal floating around.
Hello all. Ive just re built my 1st Norton Commando 850 MK2a. I road tested it the other day and now wonder if the vibration Im getting through the footrests, seat and handle bar grips is normal for these things?
Cheers. Steve
I recall that the early 50's ES2 I had as a youngster had the most wonderful exhaust sound.
Yesterday (Sunday 8/21) while our branch was doing a highway clean-up, I was told that my 1961 Slimline Model 50 is a quite rare bike as there were only about 200 of the Slimline Model 50s ever made.
