A mate of mine is looking for a Commando and has one on eye in Cumbria. As we arein Cornwall it is a looooong way to go just to see a bike that may, or may not be a good one.
Looking for a spare part for my 1956 Dominator lay down gearbox can anybody help as I know spares are a bit hard to get hold of.
After several months as time permitted I have completed assembly of my 1938 model 18 jigsaw puzzle. Managed to acquire many of the missing bits but one area has me stumped.
The recent additional photos now seem to show Commandos in abundance; about at least 70% of all the photos I reckon.

Norton 961 owners are having a display of their machines at the Elk Promotions Classic Bike Show held at Ardingly on the 23rd October 2016. Their stand will be located next to Surrey NOC stand.
Bristol Branch annually exhibit at the Bristol Classic bike Show with some memorable displays, for this coming Feb we hope to exhibit 'Nortons in Sports', and would like a sprint/drag bike on the stand, unfortunately the 'Hogslayer' is not availab
1977 MKIII Commando. New ignition warning light, with full volts going in but only approx 6.5V to earth through brown/white cable and no illumination. Connect light direct to earth and bingo, lights up. According to manual Ass. Unit is suspect.
A born worrier, I find myself looking at the oil temperaturein the AJS/Matchlesstype pear shaped oil tank on the side of my N15CS. I initially thought the oil warmed up quickly, by checkingwith myhand how hot it got on the front tankface.

I have a 8 inch(i guess) full width hub drum brake on my front wheel the brake is mounted on a long road holder and this is on a es2 from 1954 mountet.

Im looking for main bearings for a long stroke manx 1946 and wondering if anyone has numbers for replacements? Thank you so much
Rebuilding my Navigator, head off to reveal scored bores so off to get rebored and new pistons etc. Looking at the followers and bushes I was surprised to see how slack they are, any one know what kind of fit to expect.

Recon mag from Paul Wolf fitted.
New HT lead, new NGK A8 spark plug, new carb slide / jets and fuel.
Valve clearances checked and adjusted.
Valve timing checked and adjusted.
has anyone any experience/opinion on the topic of how you get a Bluetooth capable m/c sat/nav to audibly function properly? Hating motorway work as I do ,i have always done it the old fashioned way.
My ES2 is fitted with lever operated ball valve petrol cocks. Problem is that one of them leaks through the operating spindle. Any advice on a good quality tap that will fit the bike?
Went to fit my throttle cables after ripping my darn finger nail off haha
for the amal concentric's doesn't fit the throttle tube thats on the bike

For years I fiddled with the 99 brake to try to give it some BITE, Then I read that Nortons said to bore out the plate 1/32" to allow to centralise , This made no difference so I decided to bore a bit more. Scrap one plate!.
Can anyone please advise on the foolowing query?
I'm suffering from an extremely slack timing chain. The good book shows a lovely drawing of how easy it is to adjust the position of the magneto plate. Problem is it's totally inaccessible.
