Hello, my '48 ES2 didn't have the original seat when I bought it and I don't know where the correct one is supposed to be attached.
I just bought a 1972 Commando 750 cc cafe racer. It has a very heavy stearing. The bike is fitted with 4.00x18 rear and 3.50x19 front wheels. The tires are old and need to be replaced. The straight line stability is ok.

I generally type up directly my messages here, but I find the constant highlighting of supposedly misspelt words attempting to correct my English spelling to the American version very annoying as one doesn't always know if one has simply misspelt
I have a 1960 99 with code letter R before the 14 on the frame. Should the R appear also ahead of the engine number?
Would anyone have any idea whether the early Commando (68-70) mudguards are the same as the 650 Mercury ones? I cannot find a parts list for the Mercury. I require a set. They appear to look similar from photos I have seen.
thanks

This is the restoration work of my Model 7 petrol tank by Allan Templeton in Coventry.
My mother remembers the bike from new in 1952. Black and white pictures then do not tell much of the factory quality.
I've deleted this message on where to obtain the stop lamp switch. After a direct request to me by Rene Milas I originally gave several details as to where to buy one.
Just wondering how many (if any) members have confirmed entry to this event. I will be trailing my bike up, from Valencia.
Does anyone have any "handy hints" for removing the mains bearings from my 1960 Jubilee?
An old friend who was a fantastic mechanic passed away the other day, far too young. Not long before he left I asked him how it was that whenever one of my bikes left his 'operating table' they no longer leaked oil.
As I understand it, all Dominator cams are ground from the T2219 forging, and don't carry identifying stampings. Can someone identify a cam which I have based on the lobe size?
hope fully it's ok to put this here as a lot of Commando owners also own triples, anyway

Does anyone know what year Nortons changed the position of the mudguard bracket casting on the Short Roadholders. I believe the early ones had the casting as part of the bulged part at the top.
The two rear chain adjusters on my Dominator 99 (1957) have both broken off and will have to be drilled out.
Does anyone know where I can get forest green trims for featherbed headlight shrouds?
Mine have split and so far I have failed to find any.
Thank you.
Just wondering if anybody out there has come across a gardengate m40 frame with two seat mount/tank support mounts fitted in tandem. Maybe to be able to move sear forward/back.
Will soon require two number plates for my Jubilee Deluxe.

I am about to acquire a '61 Model 50. I know it has a 12v battery at the moment but is this original?
A friend of mine acquired new final drive rear sprocket and chain for his rigid framed Single. The chain is Regina 520 and the sprocket/brake-drum is an after market replica of uncertain manufacture.
I have three questions; 1, what is the crank end float measurement 2, What is the optimal squish measurement for the 1973 750 Mk1V Interpol ?
