Hi, I have an 88ss head with wobbly rocker spindles. Has anyone had a head bushed to cure this and if so do you have any recommendations for someone to carry out the work? It's a bit beyond loctite and the RGM kit.
cheers,
pete

Thanks Ashley. Too bad I think. The inner bores have worn oval. I'll have a proposer measure up shortly. Were the bores reamed for the larger spindles?

Discuss with a local model engineer or toolmaker? Your local NOC Branch may have some contacts? Whereabouts in the country are you based?
Mick Hemmings has gone; Norman White has retired, and it sounds like Mike Pemberton might have too? SRM are still going though. Who have I missed?

SRM have come back with a reasonable quote for what is a tricky job. It's still a hefty amount of money so I've got that on hold while I have a play with doing it myself. Bought a damaged head from the NOC shop for £25 to have a practice on.

How bad is bad, it might be possible to get some oversize spindles. I had some made some years ago in +0.005 and 0.008'' who we sold them too might still have them.
