Can anyone point me to a source of dimensions for a 1953/4 bolt-up Featherbed frame?
Particularly for constructing a missing rear section, but all dimensions would be useful.
Hi all,
The rearof the petroltank on my Mercury, as purchased, was secured by a thick elastic band loopedover a small bracketat the bottom rear ofthe tank and looped under a bracket on the frame.
I would like to remove the cylinder head without removing the engine and gearbox from the frame. Is this possible as I can't seem to find any specific info on it, or am I wasting my time and need to remove the engine first?
I am about to fit an Alton starter kit. With everything removed one has good access to the LH crankcase seal. I read somewhere it is a simple job to replace it.
I'll try and attach a pic of a washer from somewhere in the MO1L magdyno I'm attempting to rebuild.

Hi has anyone drained the fuel tank. The factory said remove tank and drain. All went well until I tried to remove the black fuel pipe from the red elbow coming off the pump.
Sorry but the message forum drives me nuts. I posted a reference to an article in this months "the classic motorcycle" but incorrectly titled it "classic bike", I edited the title but it still shows the original title.
Me again! Having fitted a helicoil insert in to the cylinder head (alloy - '55 ES2) I now find the the original stud is stuck fast in the rocker box.
