This came up today and I'm wondering what wisdom people can share with me. I want to buy/build a SOHC international engine. I realize there's not enough here to get the project going but I'm curious about it anyway.https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F162727352494

Bearing in mind how much the winning bid is likely to be, I'd go and have a look first. It all seems legit., and a good basis for what you're after but £420 and still 9 days to go, I would want to crawl all over it to be certain. Distance shouldn't put you off. And someone else on here can tell you the possible cost of what's missing. Brace yourself.

I'm in the U.S. which means I'm stuck with buying it sight unseen. I can see that it's rough and I'm not all that interested although I may put in a lowish bid and see what happens. I'd be hesitant to start the project in earnest without something more complete.

I guess my biggest questions are what do you guys think a fair value is and what the spare parts compatibility is across model years. I know that no matter what I start with things will have to be bought or made and that companies like Molnar don't do the single cam engines.

I bid on it and ran it up to 900 pounds to get the highest bid. Not worth much more to me since it's really just spare parts. I'll still be curious to see how high it goes.

Looks a pretty honest if beaten up lot Alan. You will pay a grand for casings 2 if you want new cast it depends on need. Heads come up fairy regular, a missing piston is not a prob as you would probably bore it (if it can take it). Cam box is the nice part to have. It looks like its had a busy if uncared for life with spanner rash all over so dont expect it to wash up and look pristine. George C was always wary of the Elektron motors as opposed to the Ally ones Dan, their early life being almost certainly being on the circuits.

If its serviceable stuff its a couple of grand I would guess...

Hello Dave,

Would you have in your stock of Inter parts --- a top bevel housing and

housing bevel to suit a 1957 featherbed 500 model ?

If so ,how much please ? I am trying to rebuild a incomplete bike, it is

needing more parts each day !!

£3,350.00p !!!!!!!!!!!!

Looks like this was bought by a dealer, so might see some of this re-listed as individual parts ??
