I know this has been discussed a few times before but what tyres do members recommend for a 1976 Mk3 Commando that I have from new. I am trying to cure head shake/wobble and I appreciate that this can be a common problem with Commandos.
What's the best way to check/set the ignition timing on a '61 99?
I've done about 800 miles on my Navigator, runs well enough except for one thing, tick over speed is too high.
It ticks over at around 1800 rpm, far to high.
Hi, I've never used a torque wrench when tightening the heads on the 99s or Commandos I've owned. Question is, will a torque wrench fit into the back of cyl space for the rear nut and the two front recessed nuts?
Does anyone know the number of teeth on the fibre and drive pinions on a 6V Lucas DC generator Type E3H on a Model 7 (and 77) ? regards, howard

Got the crank and new rods together at last and dry fitted in crankcases. I turned down an old Superblend and roller bearing to make assembly easier and now need to know about sorting the end float.

My 1962 650ss with a 99 barrel finally started the other day but sadly needed a bike starter to get her running.
I have recently acquired a Norton Model 50 1959 wideline. On taking the petrol tank of to get access to the carburettor I noticed a crease in the right side top tubing similar to the one on the attached photo.

on my 55,19s i am thinking of fitting a 6 volt battery without the plastic box. i already have one of the plastic boxs you put a battery in. but the lid doesn,t seem to secure. it makes for a loose fitting battery.
I have a 1950 Big 4 with no spark. I have checked the usual. plug, cap, lead and have got to the pickup on the Mag. I am trying to remove it but its more than fiddly. Very difficult to get at the 2 screws holding it on.
Hello all, new member here and with also a 'new' bike, recently registered with the DVLA on an age related plate dating back to 1951. extremely happy with the bike but needs recommissioning, its a Norton 500T 1951.

Checking the spare parts list they have different part number.
I recently replaced the layshaft bearing in the gearbox and at the same time replaced various bushes and also the kick-start return spring.
I need to replace a leaking top gasket on my 2017, 961 sport, the first two questions I have are, where can I obtain a gasket and secondly, once I have taken the tank off the bike can the rocker gasket be replaced with the engine in.
