I am reassembling the cylinder head on my 1972 Commando and I notice that if the slots on the rocker spindles are lined up to fit the retaining plate, the oilways are blocked.
hi there well it finally arrived so I thought I would do some commissioning work.
I gave a really good clean out as it was a little bit messy.

I've been offered a rebuilt, repainted and improved (12v electronic ignition, uprated clutch, 185cc) 1958 D5 Bantam for what appears to be a low price - I'll probably go for it as I've previously had a similarly uprated Bantam that was sold at a b

I saw this at Bloxham Steam Fair at the week end a few rows away from where I had my 1958 99 so I couldn't do a side by side comparison.
Amazing how the engine fits into what looks like a standard frame.
I just took delivery of my 961 and after riding it for 30 miles or so I noticed that the revs did not drop below 2,000 RPM going through a very slow village. I rode it hoe which was another 30 miles and once back in my driveway the revs were arou
