Hi there I’ve just bought a 1955 Norton dominator 88 500 Wideline featherbed I’m struggling to find a 20t engine sprocket it’s currently got 18t on. it was setup for a side car gearing.

Friend of mine was competing at the recent Prescott Hill Climb, and spotted a very neat Manx, with the cylinder head reversed.

My scratch-build 88 engine was getting there, but I decided the cylinder head condition wasn't good enough to continue the project, so I bought a replacement Head (EBay) and built that one up (actually a really good buy- excellent exhaust pipe and

           I know the gearbox sprocket is hardened, but is it also a service item?  In my time with my Mk2a (50K+) I must have got through three rear brake/sprockets, any amount of chains, double figures by now.

Have a look at the pictures, should this be a cause for concern? What will be a good practice to take care of that?

I am in the process of restoring my 1947 40M Manx. I have just assembled the clutch and ensured that it lines up nicely with the engine sprocket.

I am very interested in the international rally in Catalunia next year, but I assume it will last longer than just the weekend, we used to live in that area, and can confirm there are some fantastic roads, and places to visit.

I appreciate this topic comes up from time to time but my 1960 Norton Jubilee appears to be a 'wet sumper'. I have read all kinds of advice from new oil pumps to oil valves to taps on sump plugs but what does everyone think?

The 3/8" plug underneath the ES2 1961 has stripped. It is, in my opinion, not correct to use such a fine thread in aluminium. 

I'm thinking of simply tapping it to 7/16" BSF.

Does anyone have any advice on this?

I am re - building a Norton CS1 and have just finished the engine rebuild, i am interested if any other members of the club, have undertaken a similar project, i would love to catch up and discuss up's and downs of this type of project!.

I am thinking of installing some form of  device to one of my 12v alternator bikes. It needs to be small as there is little room in the 130 mm headlamp shell and no space on the bars .

Hello, I'm trying to re-life my Norton I bought 20+ years ago in India.

I replaced and adjusted the bleed air screws on my twin 32mm Amals with good results but I was getting persistent rich mixture on one side, evident from plug inspection after a run when one plug was quite black.

I needed to take the timing cover off my 1972-built 750 Commando today. The head is a Combat but I know the bikes got superblend bearings and a standard cam.
