Barry- Roy Bacon's book "Norton Singles" lists the black line as being changed to a thinner 1/4 inch in 1952- he does not give a width for the red but there is a very good photo of a1953 swinging arm ES 2 on page 118 and the red line appears to be unchanged at 1/8" - hope this helps- Regards-Richard
