Hi - I am building new wheels for my 72 Commando Roadster - single Norton Lockheed front disc-right hand side.
The gearbox on my bike is stamped GB 3608, does this sound correct for a '54 model?

I recently had an issue on my '57 Dominator model 77 gearbox, it would shift fine 1st-4th gears, but when down shifting from 4th-3rd, or 3rd-2nd, most of the time the lever moved, but no gearchange.
has anyone here got any experience of them ?
Are they well made, don't leak , fit properly etc ,etc.

I am having trouble identifying the exhausts fitted to a 1962 650SS. They are not the standard items usually seen, which are handed LH and RH.
This may seem a bit of a cheek, because its not on my Commando but has anybody ever done any welding on their bike, if so what bits must you isolate from getting spiked? I was thinking battery and boyer box?
i've just sent off for a digital voltmeter that plugs into a cigarette lighter socket from ebay for about £2.50 inc p&p I know most bikes don't have cigarette lighters but I sent off for one of those too.
Hey everyone finally done a bit more work on my Norton.
Just got the single carb conversion off of her and was thinking I've got one minty fresh 389 and was wondering fitting the matching opposed float bowl 689 if I can find one.
Can anyone tell me what the acceptable limits would be for conrod side-play on an early 40s 16H?

Hello noccers,anyone had any experience with mushroom valve adjusters as i`m thinking about getting some for my 88 rebuild. They appear to be good for valve guide wear and i know norman hyde sells them for triumphs.

I am about to fit one of Bob Newby's superb belt drive kits.
That means I will be running a dry clutch, so no longer want to route the breather into the primary cover.
Are my 650 Mercury pushrods the same as the Commando ones?I need to replace one exhaust pushrod and have a spare set (Commando I think) with the exhaust length of 7.29" or 18.51cm. Inlets are 8.15" or 20.69cm.
Any helpers?
Investigating poor low speed running on my WD16H i suspected the carb (felt like a blocked pilot jet) and i am pretty sure i have discovered the problem or problems.
