I recently had an issue on my '57 Dominator model 77 gearbox, it would shift fine 1st-4th gears, but when down shifting from 4th-3rd, or 3rd-2nd, most of the time the lever moved, but no gearchange. I replaced the hairpin spring that operates the pawl & then shifting was a breeze upshifting & downshifting. Now (50 miles later) it takes a great deal of force to get from 3dr-4th & visa versa. Planning to tear into the box Thursday after work, any thoughts of what to look for????? I was thinking if the rod that the shifting forks slide on was bent, that may be causing resistance, but who knows.
Of course I have an event I want to ride the bike to this weekend !!!!
