I bought my tank from Andover Norton, which I believe it came from India. It was checked to make sure taps and petrol cap fit. I have had no problems , I also used a tank liner to be on safe side. The only difference I noticed is the petrol cap opens the opposite way. Would I recommend buying one yes. If you are local to Reading area you are welcom to see my tank.

The early Indian replica t…
The early Indian replica tanks were o.k.. My son Tim has one on his Commando.
The later ones we all took back, they were porous like a sieve in the most incredible places. We spent more on refunds than what we got for them in the first place (some developed the faults only after a costly paint job had been done), and ceased selling them. Needless to say the Indian supplier had them back for many a month "to check them" before giving us our money back, then suddenly disappeared altogether.....
We are currently looking into having them made in England, but don't expect any tanks before next year.

I bought an Indian made Roadster tank off ebay, it fitted the bike but looked nothing like a Roadster tank. It was too deep on the sides and a square shape instead of rounded. I managed to get my money back.
Neil, my fibreglass Roadster tank filler cap opens the opposite way to a steel tank.
