Tank decals

Forums

I have just resprayed the 71 black and am about to lacquer. I was about to apply the decals to the black base coat prior to this stage. I have however just read that the Norton factory used to place the decals on top of the paint finish so that they can be peeled and replaced when getting a little tatty. The owner prior to me had painted the logo by hand, so nothing to go off.

Opinions anyone???

Thank you Steve, that is what I had read. I think that I will still lacquer to protect the black from petrol etc., but looks like the decals are going on top. I was going to position them by eye and spirit level, unless anyone knows that they should go x an y.
