Hello noccers, anyone had any experience with mushroom valve adjusters as i`m thinking about getting some for my 88 rebuild. They appear to be good for valve guide wear and i know norman hyde sells them for triumphs. He doesnt do them for nortons though so the only place ive found them as yet is on ebay stateside. Anybody know of a uk supplier. I guess its a special size as its 26 tpi but not a size i`ve come across. Its somewhere near 19/64. Anyone enlighten me. Thanks for reading and looking forward to your replies. Thanks, Colin.

The mushroom tappet adjusters are a really good modification to make. All my twins are fitted with them when i have the cylinder heads off. RGM Motors supply them in England. There is also Walridge Motors in Canada. Their web site is www.walridge.com their mushroom tappets adjusters are American made type, and the part number for all Norton 500 to 850twins is 039DRL and they cost $43.15 a set. They are well worth the money. I also fit a dural nut to these tappet adjusters, as their is less weight onfor the valve gear to move. See page 39 of their on line, catalogue that you can down load from their web site. They also have a very extensive range of parts for Norton twins, as of course do RGM. RGM will send you a free catalogue if you request one via an email. The RGM mushroom adjuster part number is 050435, and they are £10.50 for the four of them. The Dural nuts areMD74B, and they are £5 for the four of them.
