Valve guide oil feed pipes

My Pre-War ES2 has the small pipes going into the head to lube the valve guides as most of you would know already.My question is,does the pipe go into the hole in the guide itself or does it sit outside the hole relying on the oil to find its way

Hi Everyone. I am almost there with the rebuild of my dads Norton ES2 1948. Everything is fitted back together now and I plan on testing the bike first before fitting the new petrol tank.

Mystery Norton object

There is a company that produce abrasives, grinding wheels, emery cloth etc. that goes by the name Norton. I'm guessing it's something to do with them rather than a bit of motorbike.

Inter rear tank mount

I'm trying to fab a rear tank mount for my '48 Inter with a standard tank but am unsure of the vertical offset from the frame mounting point. It appears to me from some photos that I've seen online that the is no offset on the right side.

A stronger economy?

Having never been round the new factory at Donington, could the picture be of 961 engines being assembled in the new Government referendum brochure ?.............I suppose it was very similar at Bracebridge St when my model 50 was made in 1960....

I am restoring a 1935 ES2 and want to stick with the original 3 brush dynamo setup.

Can anybody tell me the value of the resistance across the switch which is used for 1/2 charge.

after a long wait, I finally got my ES2 running this afternoon ..... Hooray! it was delayed slightly by my timing that assumed the mag was fully advanced when the cable was tight!

in the 500T parts list it says that in 1951 they changed the kickstarter spring and cover from the previous years of 49/50 does anybody know why and what the new spring and cover look like.And how do they differ

I have started the restoration on my 1935 ES2 and was looking for help on what should be chrome plated. I know the following items are,

Petrol, oil tank, kick start, gear lever, handlebar and levers, brake rod.

Hey,

I have this rear hub, can you have a look at this picture and tell which type has this kind of hub?

Should this hub be fitted in the middle of the wheel or should it be moved towards the axis?

Dommie 77 gear ratio

Hi guys - I don't have any info on 77 Dommies but my ES2 (1955) is fitted with one their gearboxes (GB8 1591). Can anyone tell me the top gear ratio for an early fifties Dommie 77 gearbox? Cheers George
