in the 500T parts list it says that in 1951 they changed the kickstarter spring and cover from the previous years of 49/50 does anybody know why and what the new spring and cover look like.And how do they differ

I think 1950 was the start of the laydown gearbox previously it was the dollshead gearbox

I asume you have the so called dolls head gearbox with short kickstarter shaft if so the k/s spring is a larger version of the standard one and the cover is a simple tin affair a bit like the end of a bean can i am sure i have some k/s springs in stock
