I purchaed a seal from the spares schem (for the sleeve gear). It looks to be the one in the picture by the markings on the outside. It part number 041267 and it seems to be common to all manner of AMC gearboxes.
Found the old part in my box of bits clean it ready for paint, but not on my frame its complete. Anybody know what bike?
Just got my bike back from shop after some work (long story), they were very apologetic.
my es2 is a 54 swinging arm
the tank rubbers are two hole but the distance between holes is 4.9 inches not thenormal 4.5 inches

Iâve dismantled my Plungers; Soaked off the rust and decades of old grease stuck in the coils.
pressure plate look different from others i have seen.
Splines look bit missing on 1 photo maybe the angle shot. Anyway if i need to buy a few parts more to make a good clutch only paid £52 i like a challenge.
On page 111 of P.L. Garrett's manual, when fitting timing sprocket and chains for Models 88, 99 and 650 from 1958, he says to fit a THICK washer to the camshaft and then fit the woodruff key.

just dismantled my bottom end to find one of the tappets is jamming badly in the guide. trying various positions suggests the tappet is bent.

I have often wondered if there should be a rubber backing to the slimline tank flashes, though there is nothing in the various parts manuals to suggest that there was a separate part.
Anyone any idea where part number 06.5050 â clip - rocker oil pipe is supposed to be fitted? Apparently I bought one from Mick Hemmings in 1999, but it's not on the bike, I can't find it loose, and I don't even remember it!

I'm trying to piece together the specifications of the ES2 I just bought and I'm wondering what the front brake is. Obviously not Norton but I haven't found any markings on it. Something Italian maybe?
Last week I received a phone call from a friend of ours who weâve known for years. To cut a long story short, heâs in his 70âs and has finally accepted that he will never finish his Norton that has been in bits for 30+ years.
I couldn't find a sump plug in my parts book and the condition of my current one is so poor that can't get a thread reading on it.
Anyone know what the correct size is and/or where I can get the correct part?
on my wideline frame i am putting together i notice on the rear engine plates there are holes inline with the Centre stand mounting bolts. should a bolt run through the Centre of the stand bolts to secure the engine plates at that point.

I just restore the engine with new slip, piston, shell and engine bearings. Once start the bike I encounter oil flowing out from the rear crankcase breather. It's not normal leaking but flowing like open a water tab.
