International carburation
I have got an Inter special. It is a 1949 iron engine in an early 50's wideline frame. The guy who built the bike fitted it with a 930R concentric carb with a 270 main jet.

Hi all you may not be aware Brian Crighton has had his second prototype race bike stolen along with other parts. Some of those other parts are Norton rotary.
I have been looking for the last couple of years for a rear mudguard and chain guard for my 1935 Es2. Surprise, surprise I haven't found either.Does any body know where I could get them made?
Iâm stuck....Iâve got half of rubbers into the clutch spider with makeshift tools. Managed to press three of them in with a lot of grunt, C clamps and dish soap as a lubricant.
The speedo I have fitted looks like a Smiths type, it goes up to just over 80mph. It has no trip meter on it and only has Made in England running along the top of the dial and Chronometric in the middle.
I have just had a look at my wheel rims (which are painted black)and the front one has Jones wm3 stamped on it.I can't see anything on the rear due to thick paint. The tyre size is 325x19 on both.Is this this correct size rim as I have seen differi
Rag: The most unsung tool of all.
I always know when I'm going to get some rags for the shed. My dear wife decides she's had enough and gone out and bought me some new undies.
Just to let you know the mid-summer bike night near Taunton is just one week away on the 22nd June...please see my basic flyer:
Can anyone tell me how to resize pics on my iPad so I can attach them here? All my pics are larger than 1Mb, and the forum doesn't allow me to upload them.
Thank, Terry
This is really just a test to see if I have successfully resized a pic to allow it to be attached. In case anyone is interested it shows the remote filter attached to the centre stand stop mounting point using the club-supplied bracket.
How do you tell a genuine nos hepolite piston from a new hepolite been sent some sold as nos but not convinced they are all they have is 6.92 on the inside but with ae rings
Hi
I have a 74 850 Roadster.
The ignition warning light is staying on whilst running.
As my Commando is in bits ready to cobble back together I have had time to consider a few things I have found a bit strange to do with the top head steady. IMO it is at best shabby.
The silencers on my 1959 99 apparently date back to the early eighties and I need to replace them.
Trying to put my Mk3 gearbox together. I cannot fully engage 4th gear in that the camplate falls just short of the plunger, all other gears are fine I have stripped it numerous times but can't see what the problem is, any ideas?
Hi All,
As the Title, has anyone heard of Peter Pack? reputedly a well known Manx engine builder and racer not sure of a date maybe as far back as the 30's?
I would be grateful for any info
thanks regards
Kim.
Looking for advice on what oils to use in the engine, gearbox and primary on my newly purchased 1946 model 18.Straight 50 (with or without detergent)? This is my first Norton.....

Hi all -- I have a 1975 Mk3 which has been running perfectly until a few days ago when I tried to start it. I'd been away abroad and the bike had been sitting for a month. I drained the sump and returned about a pint of oil to the oil tank.
Can anyone help? I need the dimensions between centres, of crankshaft, gearbox mainshaft (taking into account side to side movement (about 1/2â)) and footrest holes for an inner primary case to suit my 53 Big four rigid teles.
The kiddies, (mere 40 year olds) have been wimpishly complaining about the clutch on the 99 so I have replaced 50 year old cables and springs with super nylon lined and graphite lubed cables, found new easy run route etc, etc.
I see that the club spares has a replica version with a part number appropriate for ES2. Since the Inter equivalent has a different part number, I'm wondering if the differences are easily remedied, eg, relocating tabs or something.
Hi, just finished off a small project to convert the M50 Alloy (59-63) head to ES2 500cc spec.
Some time back I read an article by andy_sochanik re resiting the Engine breather:
Can anyone tell me where I can get my Domi 99 oil pump serviced?
Thanks, Peter.
Next ride out Saturday 17th June â Scarborough.
Silly question no.1; are the small brackets on the sealed beam unit for holding the "W"clips? Silly question no.2; which side of the sealed beam unit do the spring prongs on chrome rim go - in front or behind? George
Looking again at my '57 88 suffering from excessive smoking and severe c/head oil leaks I have found that if I fill the pushrod tunnel with oil it takes forever to drain.
I'm showing the basic idea I've had for this valve. It uses the tunnel that exists to connect the conical seal to the main timing case oil seal that feeds the big ends.
