Dellortos or 'premier' Amals? Has anyone got a view on the new Amals yet? I was considering a pair of 34mm Dellorto phbe"s, but they sure are expensive !Have Amal suffciantly addressed the "issues"?

I can recommend Jim Schmidt's flatslides from the states. the needles are specifically made for the Commando and they work straight out of the box. I have tried every type of common carb(s) on my fastback in the last 37 years non work as well as JS. If you can avoid paying import tax then they are very good value. (not that I'm advocating tax evasion but if you were going to the states on holiday they might just fit into your luggage. www.jsmotorsport.com
IMHO the next best bet is the single 34mm Mikuni, it has a proper chromed brass slide and is a fit and forget option.
