What's this for?
The arrow on the photo is pointing at a bracket that is bolted to the centre channel section of the lightweight frame. It appears to be welded or brazed to the tubular cross piece.
What is it's purpose?

Will be viewing a barn find 99 today and take pictures. Does anyone still enjoy a re-build ? Cheaper to buy a runner , ?.
After a two year delay retirement has allowed me to start the rebuild of my Navigator which suffered a bent frame after a Landrover pulled out in front of me and I had to part company to avoid T boning it.
Because of my diminishing strength in my legs the act of kick starting my 650ss is proving too much for me . I have researched the possibility of an electric start to no avail..
Hi all.
Dommi 99. I have a new, 42 link chain driving the mag with an auto advance unit, but it's touching the top of the oil pump.
Is a cracked engine sprocket a common occurance or more likely a faulty part ? it was relatively new. Crack is at the bottom, starting at the keyway

Yesterday morning a Maybug flew into the glass of my back door and stunned itself - amazingly hard and heavy for a flying insect. I haven't looked closely at them for years - but this weekend I have been wearing my full face helmet even when trav
I have a speedo in my 99 Dominator, which has written on it 1450 which I think is the turns per mile and a part number of s.609/11
Hello,
I am looking for some information re my 500T ('54). I don't know if it's the same as other 500 singles of that year.
I fitted a combined charge and low pressure oil warning light and pressure sensor to my 750 a while back.
Well here's more evidence that the arse is falling out of the UK classic bike market prices.
Hopefully more folk will now be able to buy and maybe we'll welcome new and younger members to our club.
Following on from the rear brake discussion in the "Electra in spring time" thread, is it possible to fit the Electra (Dominator) rear hub/brake to the Navigator? I don't know, I had a Dominator hub that I considered fitting but didn't bother.
My last Roadholder was the April edition, has the May edition been distributed yet?
Rgds.

I'm still searching for a usable Commando in the Yorkshire/Northern area. Most seem to have US spec bars that will be a little too high for me. I know changing bars is easy enough but will the corresponding control cables need to be shortened?
I recently bought a front mudguard at Kempton, it was labelled (well masking tape and marker pen) as ES2. It looked about right for a Norton, good weight and not much rust. When I got home, I gave it a more detailed check.
Hi All
I know this is not a technical query but I seek the advice of the Wise Heads to be found hereabouts.
Just received renewal quote from Carole Nash for my 72 Commando. Last year 275 quid
Good morning all
The 'resurrection' is going well-I'd like to say 'on target' but.....
Anyhow a couple of subjects I'd like like assistance please:
What's good and what's not in the way of tyres these days?
I thought I would attach a couple of pictures of my Electra resting amongst the bright green leaves of the Somerset trees, vibrant blue of the Bluebells and rich red of Campion during my long test ride after it's gearbox, clutch and starter rebuil
Hi Everyone,
I have just joined the club and hope to buy a Commando in the near future. My current thinking is a left hand gear change model with an electric start. Mk.3?
on my ‘62 slimline featherbed the rear end of the seat locks into a dzu fastener in the rear mudguard......no problem.
Query....does this method stay the same on all the slimline models...until Commando ??
WE have asked many times to have the town/city/country with the members name. It will help extensibly to allow help plans. The offer to nip round and help out for him in New York just isn't going to happen!
Can someone tell me the size of the clutch adjusting screw in the clutch outer pressure plate?
I suspect 9/16" x 16TPI.
My outer cover needs work and I must decide how to do it.
I need to replace the tyres on my Atlas, usually use avon but they have become very expensive ,
Looking at Mitas H-06 or Michelin Road classics , has anyone experience with either of these tyres.
Has anyone tried a JSMotorsport JS0 cam and lightweight lifters in a 500?
I am replacing some of the bolts attaching the gearbox outer cover to the gearbox shell. According to items I have read, the required bolt size is ¼"BSF, so I ordered some, which arrived today.
My question to members.
Is it necessary to fit the leather seal between the bottom yoke and fork cover.
Thanks for any feedback.Denis Curry.
