1954 bolt up rear subframe

Forums

Hi
Would someone be able to give me the correct length of the top distance tube for a bolt up rear subframe its the top tube which is often used for a tank strap buckle. Its a 1954 wideline featherbed frame.
thanks
Adrian

hello
the tank strap buckle is inside the tooltray and the bolt up tool tray has gaps at the top distance tube so the length of the distance tube is the width of the gap. the toolray is bolted to the rear fixing brackets only. so can pivot .unless i m missing something on my boltup.

There should be a tube inside the tooltray that the frame fixing stud passes through.
It will be 7&7/8th" long with a 5/16th" id.
The tank fixing strap is attached to a threaded trunnion arrangement that is bolted inside the tool tray to allow a tensioning bolt to be screwed into it.
I'll take some pictures later if needed.
