keeping Featherbeds or engines/laydown gearbox

Forums

It seems today that Nortons heavy twins are dying or resurrecting in the form of bitzas , Triton first, or as a source of spares for Norton engines.

I heard a story about a Frenchman selling away a Dominator engine and laydown gearbox to build a Manx engine in the cradle of his plunger Model 7. I thought that plungers on Manxes were tilted forward...Too late, his engine is becoming a shelf sculpture... One day, somebody will be looking for a Model 7 plunger frame. Neverending story?

Keep your engines...

I think there's room for specials and originals, Nortons have been the source or subject of specials since they were made. It would be worse if the parts were being dumped!
