Hi all, I've just acquired a 1938 Model 50 with a lot missing so this will be fun!! A few questions if you all don't mind. Where can I get a parts list? The best workshop manual? How is the model regarding parts interchangability with other models of the era? I have a feeling this will be just the start, sorry.

Another early callmight be the free download of the WD16H manual from wdnorton dot nl. This applies to nearly all the cycle and transmission parts but not to the OHV engine. Even then: it applies to the bottom half andmagneto etc.
Thebook 'Norton Motorcyles' by E.M. Franks turns up at jumbles and on ebay and applies to the singles from the early '30s. to whichever publication date you can find. Often dated 1948.
Bacon's 'Norton Singles' also has a lot of information for owners.

Hi Dave,
A point you may not be aware of is that the pre-war 350 crankcases are physically smaller than those of the 500/600 crankcases. As the crankcases form part of the frame construction, this means the 350 frame is different to the others so you can't swap engines. This also means the rear engine plates are different, so if you are missing any parts make sure they are for a Model 50.
Regards, Richard.

Well, the first place I'd look is the NOC shop on this site! Link on the left of the screen. They have a 1936 parts book and Mike Pembertons video on rebuilding single engines.
Otherwise the usual places of eBay, Amazon and Autojumbles. Stafford is coming up soon. Manuals and spares books come up fairly oflen. The manuals (incl the book of the Norton) are ok but often lack detail.
