Metalic sheen in oil after rebuild

I have recently reassembled the motor on my 750 racer. It was not really a rebuild as most parts including cam, followers and rings were really used.

I gave it about half an hour running time at varied rpm, then changed the oil. I noticed a fine metalic sheen to the oil that came out of it. I put new oil in and ran it again, same thing.

It is a very fine, almost like metalic paint sparkly look. Non ferrous, and no big bits...

Any idea what to do?

Well I guess there are 3 things you could do:

1 ignore it

2. Fit an oil filter

3. My preferred option : start taking it apart until you find what's causing the problem! :)

Sorry that's prob not very helpful but it sounds like something is rubbing. If it were mine I'd be taking it apart, I'm no expert but I'd start with the timing side
