Checking the ignition timing as it won't go, led me to the following, which confused me.

When I check the points off the bike I get open circuit with the point open, closed circuit when closed. Correct.

Can anyone tell me if this is a home made repair or has someone seen this before.thanks.

Im just about to purchase a MKIV Boyer ignition for my 73 Commando, anyone know the best combination of spark plug and plug cap to use?

I have had an RM24 alternator on my 750 for years with the 3-ph regulator rectifier which acts in place of the old rectifier and zener diodes. It gets warm normally because it has to 'dump' much of the power the alterntor is producing.

Can anybody Help. I am rebuilding a Navigator engine and would like to know what is the gap between the barrel and the cylinder heads i.e. spigot height as the heads have been skimmed and at the moment there is a big gap many thanks.

Please can you look at these photos and confirm forks are from about 1962.

During almost 30 years of owning my Mk2A Commando it has consumed 5 Lucas ignition switches! It must be the least reliable item for what is a very basic role in life - with not even a starter motor to energise.

Fitted some new fork gaiters last week and didn't notice the loose h/light brkts, so now have to fit new 0 rings, a bit of a bugger I've been told?

Hi folks just had my insurance renewal quote from Carol Nash who I've been with for years, 2 bikes, Commando and 81 XT250 £2OO. bit dear methinks, so I was up my local M/C club W. A. C. (Worcester Auto Club) and a few of the lads are using R. H.

Am fitting the rebuilt long roadholder forks to my 1956 (pre-featherbed) Model 50 and the manual refers to a "pull through" tool that is needed to get the top of the sliders into the top yoke. Are these available? Do I need one? 

Fired up the bike today after the top end rebuild, and registered 25 psi oil pressure cold  at the l.h. rocker oil feed banjo bolt at tickover. Is this ok does anyone know?
