1946 Model 18 battery recommendations
Hello
I would like to find an AGM, 6 volt battery for my 1946 Model 18. Can anyone recommend a modern battery replacement that fits the original battery box?
Many thanks for any help and advice.

Happy new Year all. On my Model 50 the small oil pipes coming out of the rocker box are plastic and have melted! Any suggestions where I can get proper parts or make something more robust and durable?
Some time ago someone posted pictures of a pedal extension to make getting the bike up on the centre stand easier (well it couldn't be harder...). Stupidly I didn't take a copy of the pics. Any chance of reposting the details?
I was only halfway through the recent thread started by Al Osborn when I had to take a break.
When I came back to it the thread had gone.
A lot of questions left unanswered.
Hi,
Fitting new cables on my 69 twin Amal 30mm carbs.
Really struggling to get the 4 (2x Choke, 2x throttle) cables on the splitters and then join them to the two cables that run to the handle bars.
On the dynamo model 1956, should there be a washer/spacer/shim on the camshaft in the timing case, under the dynamo-driving spider ?
The original 1957/1958 Maintenance Manual Para 30 (dynamo model) states that there should be one.
Hi, I posted here about 18 months ago, regarding a rear Mudguard for a 1955 ES2 , unfortunately I still havn't managed to get one, apart from one I purchased from india which is of to poor a quality and doesnt even fit.
Hi there,
I was wondering if anyone can help me out? I have recently been gifted a Fastback from a family member in Canada and I am just trying to work out the age of the frame.
Any help would be appreciated. Kind regards
Is it me or do the “packages” Mark refers to need some sort of code or recognition on the NOC shop to gain the discounts? I went to go for “all four” but not able to at £40

Having just read the "Carburettor Tickling" article in the club mag, I though my experience would be of interest.
I have been having an intermittent problem with the clutch, when the bike is hot some times the clutch slips when trying to re-start the engine, Reading the brilliant compendium and Andy's advice I have boiled the friction plates in washing powder
Can anyone please advise me whether the MCR1 voltage control box should be mounted under the saddle ( how is it attached?) or on top of the toolbox please, for my 1937 16h civilian model
Thanks,
Gary.

Hi , as part of them gearbox renovation i decided to replace the sleeve gear bushes ( even though they seemed ok ) - bought 2 new ones but when i made a start on changing them i found 3 bushes in the sleeve gear , outer 2 same length as new ones
Having stripped down the Swinging Arm on my '72 Roadster I am faced with having to fit a 0.010" oversized spindle to take out excess play. Can anyone recommend a source of 0.885" hand reamers please??

Should I be able to move the cam assembly easily about 10 degrees clockwise and anti clockwise against the auto advance mechanism and there be no evidence of springing back to relax the spring in the magneto end?
Lately I have been struggling with an unreliable gear change on the 99. It has standard and orriginal parts ,but my size 9/10 boots (Daytona's ) just won't fit under easily for up changes.
Need some general advice ref my 1951 plunger ES2 which I recently aquired sporting a very nice non original dual seat. I wish to fit a single sprung seat but have a couple questions that I cannot see answers for in previous forums, forgive me if
Can anyone identify the thread on my '77 Commando 850. The oil level screw hole in the primary chain case has been 90% stripped out by previous owners. I would like to helical it so that I can re-use the original screw.
Can I hear your mains Commando?
I remember long ago another starry evening
By a streetlight Commando
You were rumbling to yourself and making such a bloody din
I could hear the big ends knock
Hi all , my camplate and quadrant spindle bolts are rusty and i was wondering if its possible to remove and replace them without stripping the gearbox .
Ideally this is what I am after. Same as for the 60's Mustangs and Camaros. There is a manual that shows the assembly line workers exactly what goes where and in what order with the part numbers listed.
Dear normal members,
Please tell me the decimal point is in the wrong place !!!
I may have asked this before but is there a special puller for removing the mag socket on a mid fifties ES2? There's such a tiny gap between the chain and the timing case that ordinary pullers won't go in.

I Bought a Vampire Motorcycle was on Talking Pictures TV (Freeview 81) this evening.
Anyone know where I can get a longer kick start pedal for my 650SS as I seem not to be able to spin the fly wheel enough to keep momentum after first spark.
