cold starting

So another old commando is rebuilt and back on the road , I have really enoyed disappearing into my garage at every opportunity over the last 6 months .

Superb Service

I have just had the pleasure of some most excellent service from the NOC Spares scheme. A set of 650 Dominator exhaust valves plus a cylinder head gasket delivered within a couple of days at half the price quoted by A/N for the same spares.

Torque

My workshop manual, which I bought recently , says that I should torque the nuts that screw into the 3 little locating studs that hold the stator surround of the alternator to 15 ft lbs.

At last I am back working on rebuilding the gearbox and drive side on my 650SS, Its been a long time getting this far what with both of us catching Covid19 and my wife also had a stroke and seizures but she is now much improved and bossing me abou

Dominator magneto blunder

The mighty Norton lives after refitting the head after the great work done on it by Seager Engineering  was kicking and pushing it for ages only occasional pop then noticed the magneto cam ring had moved out slightly, came out of key and rotated,

16H Lock Up

I was out on my 1946 16H for the first time last night. I have had the bike since January and had a few problems to sort and it has had a good service. 
 

Navigator cold starting

Now up to 500 miles on my 1964 Navigator since its rebuild and the bike is running very well and is a pleasure to ride, but I have a question when starting the bike from cold I have to flood the carb excessively (with the choke fully on) to get it
