I converted from a magneto to a Boyer ignition with two 6 volt coils behind the oil tank on my 65 Atlas and cannot get it to start. This also has 5k resistor spark plug caps.

I've been doing too much reading and not enough actual work (i like to call it research) prior to embarking on 2 x commando projects (my current matching numbers 750 S is just about finished, picture attached)
Can anyone tell how to replace the return spring of the rear brake pedal on a Norton 650SS.
I have restored a 1937 16h and it is not starting! It coughs and fires but won’t quite catch. It seems to be spitting fuel out the back of the carb over the oil tank - is that normal? I wondered if I may have the valve timing incorrect?
Hi there,
I have a simple question: Do we have to bring any pillows and stuff for the booked cabins on the campsite or is it all there?
Regards Uwe
This is the 3rd Commando stop light switch (WW10141 previously a Lucas #34815) that I have replaced in so many years due to the rubber boot having perished.

Hi all
Can someone identify whats going on here.
I have been told that the hole in the front engine mount on my Manx was for a plug spanner. Does anybody have a photo of one? I have tried to find a photo but failed, I am not sure if this was just a mod done to this bike .
Re: Slimline seat for 1962 650SS.
I'm hoping to refurbish the original seat. Can anyone please help with the correct shape and dimensions for the seat pan? Also the part numbers for the correct rubber grommets.
Thank you.
I found this rubber boot useful in protecting/covering the electrical connection under my Commando tank.
Firstly an apology but this query didn’t seem to fit into any of the forum categories.
I am having a bit of a nightmare rebuilding my 1956 Dominator 500 Laydown gearbox. The gear teeth hardening had worn and I managed to get a NOS gear N8041 (Layshaft 2nd gear sliding pinion). The problem is that whilst it has the same part number

I am desperatly looking for a headlight chrome ring for my 1959 Jubilee Deluxe.
The headlamp shell has a diameter of approx. 5 1/2 half inch. A Lucas 5 3/4 inch rim is
definetly too big.
I can't imagine it could possibly make that much difference but, as I don't have a center stand it has raised the question of, should the oil level should be checked with the bike on its wheels, or on the center stand? I use a paddock stand which
What carb should be fitted to my 1937 Norton 16h (Civilian Model) please?
It has a 276 AE/1BE fitted, which I believe is a WD type - would this make any difference?
Thanks
Gary.

I feel stupid asking this, since I've done the job enough times, but how tightly should this be done up?

Hi Folks
Having a bit of a shed tidy and I have come across a few unidentified parts. I inherited loads of bike parts from my dad who was a Norton man, but im guessing they could be from just about anything.
A plunger ES2 with Inter engine fitted went for £7,000 at the recent Pugh's auction. That of course was the hammer price - commission to be added but still looks like a decent price to me.
I’m sure most of us will have seen Tritons (or at least pics) with a different engine to the usual bonnie variants- the Trident 3-cylinder.
Hi, I'm new to Commando's and I've a Mk 1 850, I noticed oil mist from the 2 bolts at the front of the gearbox that are quite inaccessible but managed to get a spanner on them to nip them up only to find it feels like they're changing the gears up
