Is this the correct speedo for a 1951 30 Inter?  Is there a list or catalog I could reference?

James,

I have a 1953 Inter whose speedo looks exactly the same as the photo you posted.

I wonder if the plunger framed bikes have the same dash  panel (1949 part number B2/631) and speedometer(1949 part number B11/545) as the featherbeds? Is there a 1950's Smith gauge catalog available?

The plunger bikes have a dash panel which is held in place by the fork top nuts, and has a triangular front and holds just the speedometer. The ammeter and main lighting switch are mounted on a panel on the rear of the headlamp shell.

Featherbed bikes have a square-fronted dash panel, which mounts the ammeter on the right and main lighting switch on the left of the speedometer.  Note that there is also a deflector plate underneath to keep water and other debris from the wiring under the dash panel.

I think the 1958 Inters got an AMC headlamp shell with the speedo and ammeter and lighting switch mounted in a panel on its top, so there is no instrument panel mounted on the forks
