Now that I have the cylinder head off and all is in good order.
Do i need to modifyi the exhaust seats for unleaded fuel.
Or is it Ok to leave as is?
Is there supposed to be a way of securing tools in the standard battery box, every time I open mine they fall onto the floor! Iâm considering fitting a removable seat and putting a tool tray under it like the deluxe!

Hi all, just enrolled to the owners club, please be gentle.
I own a dominator 961 ss and have seen some talk of a chap called Shaun who makes rear number plate brackets that fit under the rear brake light.
With my 750 Commando up and running beautifully again, it has highligted that the clutch action is really heavy.
I have just bought my first Norton single - a 1961 Norton ES2.
It was last licensed in 1978 so it may have stood in a shed for 40 years.
Hi, I am assembling this engine and I am not sure which way the bearings are positioned ? Can anyone provide a simple sketch of the bearings in position on a crankshaft please?
I have two roller bearings and a plain ball race
Took my jubilee out for a run today and came back with the left side rather oily!
Hi
I am in need of a Quaife 5 speed mainshaft for a Commando. Loaning out my Rickman Commando for parades this summer & the clutch nut threads probably will not survive the clutch taken down again.

Hello. I am new member and also a Norton owner for the first time. The bike was bought as a none runner due to an electrical issue.
I've put this post in General as, although my gearbox is from a Mod 7 or Dommie 88 (1955) it s often found in ES2's or other 500 singles.
My 1952 ES2 just has a big oval hole where the mainshaft from the gearbox comes through which seems a prime location for oil to drip out. ISTR that Commandos had a sliding disc arrangement to minimise this.
Hi all,
Coming to the end of a long rebuild of my '68 Norton Mercury.
Here is a pic from the " box of horror " of a friend who does a lot of engine overhauls,
I Know this has been done before but it`s new to me, but my mk3 commando 850 77`
I stripped the gearbox as had a problem with finding Natural I sorted that out but went out for my first ride today
I have just finished rebuilding a 1957 19S bike and engine but can't start it. New valve gear, piston, rings, carburettor and a professionally refurbished magneto.
Heard that pipe would scrape.
Did put stiffer springs to get more clearance.
85 springs way too soft for a 170 Lb rider on 515 Lb bike, so went to 110 springs.
Had to find out myself.
Pics of tire and pipe.
Hi a Norton 99 has come my way for a few repairs after a small tumble, now the repairs are no problem but itâs also due a service, I donât have any literature on the Bike so I was wanting to pick the brains of other owners on a good oil grade and
Hi
I spent the weekend machining a new end cover for the 3 speed SA box on my 1928 Norton CS1 and assembling the box. I'm happy with the end result but now need to decide what oil to use in it. Does anyone have any recommendations?
Glancing through the 2017 accounts I notice that some figures have been given regarding the Spares scheme.
Would it be difficult and/or time consuming to have a system whereby we could access our purchase history from The NOC Shop?
Hi All
I am the proud inheritor of a 500T. I now have the bike on the road and I love every minute of it. I do however have 2 issues that I really could do with you assistance with.
