Dollahead Gearbox Clutch
Having ordered new clutch plates for my 1949 500T I now find that they are a bad fit.
The new friction plate with outer tangs is 150mm (not including the tangs)
making them 2mm too big. The old plates are 148mm

Hi
Me again and would appreciate your views please.
I removed the barrels today and the following pictures tell a tale but not sure what sort of tale.
I know that this subject has appeared in recent months but the companies recommended are always at least a couple of hundred miles away from me.
The 1961 ES2 I have just bought has the gearbox kickstart shaft with a square shank, not the normal splined one shown in the cutaway diagrams, or as on my other Nortons.
Is this normal?
Hi All
Can you please tell me how the air valve works on a Amal 276. On my bike the air valve cable has zero free play and when cable is removed from the lever it has a further 1cm before any free play is found, I this normal?.
Can the 'monkey metal' tank badges be re-chromed satisfactorily? They seem rather flimsy so I'm not sure they would take kindly to blasting.
Terry.
Pre f/bed ES2. The pic shows the minimal clearance between the the chain and the s/arm pivot cover bolts. The bike is on its centre stand so suspension is at full stretch but is this almost non existent gap normal? The sprocket is a normal 19T.
Hi All
Have any of you removed a 500t head with the engine still in the bike.
It looks very tight to the top frame tube with only mm's clearance.
Is it possible as really do not want to remove the engine again
Can anyone help me please my insurance company said they can add my Norton model 50 to my other bike insurance ( Carole Nash ) but they cant find model 50 listed under their list of Norton Models.
Hi All
I'm new to Nortons and have an 88 Dommi running on Dunlop Alloy Rims (correctly drilled for the Norton Hubs).
Hi everyone. I have recently got my hands on two boxes of assorted spares from my soon to be son in law, (my Domi was his fathers and he has been sorting out his mums garage)
I have recently acquired a 1924 Norton Model 18 with Druid forks.
My other model 18 has a combined steering damper and steering stops fitted through the Webb fork steering stem.
I went along today with the expectation of a nice ride out on my 961 sport 2012 to the AGM. I also hoped to have a look around the factory or at least see some of the latest models.
My recently rebuilt Navigator engine was blowing out of the cylinder head gasket on the left side. I used a single piece composite gasket with two thin layers of copper on each side.
Would anyone have an image of the early featherbed oil tank/battery platform and maybe the battery retaining parts - I do have the later platform but the jumble season is opening and I want to look for the right parts.
Thanks
While trying to remove the cylinder heads from a seized Electra I sadly broke some fins off the cylinder barrel. The one head I removed looks ok, the other head is still stuck to the cylinder.
Hi All
My 500t is eating plugs. The current plugs I am using is B6ES. I am thinking this may not be the correct plug as after around 15 to 20 mile it start to miss and struggle to pull properly.
What started as a quick oil seal change turned into something more major but Ive seen kickstarts, sprockets and gear levers welded to their shafts but this takes the biscuit!
I was Just wondering now that 1977 Motorcycles are now on the 40 rolling Tax and soon to be MOT excempt do you think wecould put the old style Classic black and silver pressed Number Plate on or will this still be a sick Bird...
Anybody have , or know where I can get one ?
Thanks, Chris in San Diego, Ca. USA
Can anyone recommend either a good quality/ good fit aftermarket fly screen for Mk2 SE or a source for the OEM norton screen (although theyâre pretty steep price-wise I believe)?
many thanks
Rick
I have been thinking of late that the hybrid bikes have been left out of the Norton twins anniversary celebrations.
Having used the standard disc set up. my personal view is that it needs to be a lot better for my personal use.
Steve kindly sent me picthres of the RGM disc set up on his bike which is very nice.
Under the new Mayorâs Transport Strategy, motorcycles and scooters that do not meet Euro 3 standards â i.e. those registered before 2007 â will be counted alongside cars, taxis and construction traffic, and charged similarly.
Having got the box all back together with the help of Mick Hemmings excellent DvD I now find the following;
Hi All, My '59 wideline frame's L/H swinging arm gusset plate has a 6 digit number stamped on the top edge - is this the norm?

Hi just joined the owners club and was wondering if anyone could answer a question for me .
I was looking on line yesterday and saw an American chap on Youtube reassembling a Commano 'box and being very careful to set the endfloat on the kickstart shaft at "between 5 and 10 thou" before finally refitting the inner cover.
Does does anyone know the last frame number before the MK3 number series started? - There is a 360*** number on mine - maybe not official?
