Petrol taps
On my 1937 16H the RHS fuel tap is 'HexagOn' type but LHS has a flat lever type, which is not properly sealing closed. If I renew it, I might as well copy the original. Were they both HexagOn taps when new or was reserve side different?

Hi
Can anyone tell me the spec of the screws that go through the timing side, through the triangular plate and into the Dynamo body? There seem to be 2 screws and the other is maybe a rod with a nut inside the Dynamo?
Hello,

I have not started my Jubilee for a few weeks and I was aware that the oil tank contents had almost completely drained into the engine.
Hi,
Restoring my '67 650SS and struggling to identify the correct headlamp - I think the bike is currently non-standard (see photo).
I'm restoring a -68 650SS that has been sleeping for some 25 years. I think the ignition is same as early Commandos placed on the rear of the engine. If I'm forced to replace it with a electronic ignition, what should I use?
Afternoon all, I have a 1959 99 600cc with no modifications to standard.. Due to period of ill health and other demands the bike has been standing for about 3 months since last used.
We still do NOT have aproper spell checker.........
Trying to identify the clutch fitted to my '59 Dominator I contacted Norvil. This is their response:
I need to replace the bronze thrust bearing on the main shaft. Can I do this by removing the end cover or will I have to dismantle the whole of the clutch and remove the main shaft completely from the box. Many thanks John.
Hello,
I have managed to find an original Eureka oil pressure gauge and now being fully restored by Speedograph.
Now I am wondering what connection do I use to get the oil pressure feed from.
Crankshaft now re- ground and ready for re-assembly.
Hi all , been out for a ride today on my 99 . While I was on my travels I was thinking it would have been great to have riding with someone else. I wondered if anyone else was in the club in the derby area who would have accompanies me. I’m very new to British bikes so there are plenty of questions I would like to ask at a cafe or something. Basically I’m just looking for some new friends lol.
Since the original date on February 2nd & 3rd 2019 was snowed-off, please note that the event is now re-scheduled for February 23rd & 24th 2019.
Hi all
Well electrics and me don't get on and to make things more difficult I have added regulator/Rec new 2mc, tri spark ignition, and a honda handle bar control for the indicators etc.
Looking for persons and stories related to the production and assemby of the John Player Norton Replica. So far I have been told that they were built on the track at Wolverhampton.
Hi all.
Having no luck with finding a pair of +40 Jubilee pistons, but I do posses one,so if any of you could help me find another, even a bare one i would be most grateful.
Thanks to all who have offered advice on my clutch. Now I need to remove it as part of my preparation for removing the engine.
I am rebuilding a ES2 engine, how is the magneto/distributor drive chain lubricated?
Does oil bleed through from the drive shaft, or do I pack it with grease - surely not?
I have heard that Bob Trigg who had a big part in the Commando project has died.
Bike is a 1959 Dominator 99 - see photos. Please can someone tell me what make of clutch this is ?
Hi All,
I live in Australia and for the last 25 years being interested in Norton motorcycles I have never seen an original enamel Norton related sign come up for sale in Australia.
I have a 1947 model 18 which I am returning to the road after a 60 year lay up. There is a slight kink in the top tube just in front of the carb. Should it be there?
Hello. Hoping someone could advise me on where and which pipes go where on a Jubilee.
Can any one tell me if the shaft shown in the NOC Shop (ref SS08 C1_3602) is the longer one for a 102 (single) box or the shorter one for the GB8 (twin) box.
The Norton part number I'm after is A2/353 (the longer one).
Hi there I am restoring a 1966 Atlas and am interested to know how different the 1966 burgundy red was from the candy red of 1965 and if there is a current colour match?
