I have just got this 74 Interstate 850. It does not have a tool kit with it, but it also appears not to have a suitable place for one to have been. Was it discontinued, or am I missing something obvious?
Hi all,
Friend of mine sent me this the other day - handy to print and keep with the tools....
I've spent a couple hours or more on the internet over the last few days looking for an Electra Clutch Lifter Cam-plate Assembly part #048195 to no avail. Norvil says they might have one but the guy who knows is gone for a couple weeks.
Every road bike needs a toolbox, but although they were an option my Inter didn't even have the brackets. So I'm fitting an Indian one. A few issues of course.
Anyone suggest black paint for the master cylinder that is resistant to brake fluid ? Thanks, Roy.

Good evening. I have just acquired a 1974 850 mk2a Interstate. I think. I don’t collect it for a few days so I’m not 100% certain exactly what it is. Despite 40-50 bikes in the past nearly 50 years this is my first Norton.
The right hand seat retaining bolt on my Electra has a stripped thread. I ordered a seat retaining bolt SS23 71 21298 from the NOC shop. Unfortunately this is definitely not a replacement for the bolt on the bike.
Went out to the garage in the dark, touched the bike ,huge static spark 1" long lit up the place. Don't play with petrol in the garage!!.
Can anyone recommend a good quality fuel tap (not one with a dreaded cork seal!) with a reserve setting which fits straight into the Navigator fuel tank and looks appropriately ‘period’?
Hi all, need to adjust rear chain and believe the best way to set rear wheel is a straight edge from front wheel to rear, any other suggestions,?
I have had a failure with an agm battery fitted to the wifes 2 year old car. I notice that the battery feels like its full of acid sloshing about. I thought AGM was designed to avoid having acid in liquid form. Any idea whats going on??.
