I have what I believe is referred to as an "early" type AMC clutch where the chainwheel/basket has friction inserts and the hub back plate is plain. I also have 3 friction plates with external tangs and 4 plain plates with internal tangs.

Hi all

Just got a new 6v alternator for the Dominator and the wires are uncomfortably close to the chain. 

Am i doing something wrong. Should the alternator be flipped.

I am trying to learn what is the differences between the Combat head, valve angle, etc verses this newer FullAuto head.  Can't seem to get any particular specs. Anyone out there who has experience and ideally specifications on this topic?

I’ve been recommissioning a 1974 850 Mk2a Interstate.  The bike hadn’t been used for a number of years so I’ve given it a thorough service and a good going over.  With a break in the weather last we I took her out on the road for the first time.

I'm curious if anyone has blanked off one side of the exhaust on a 2 port head?

I've heard this was a racers trick but  did it actually work or is it just another myth that has followed us over time.?

I have just rebuilt a 1973 850 Commando and owing to the fact I have a problem with my right knee I am about to fit an Alton Electric start kit.

Amongst the bits that I acquired with the 650SS project were a pair of rear engine plates. They don't however, fit the 650 crankcase so I'm assuming that they aren't the correct ones. Can anyone identify these plates, please.

Can anyone please give me the part number for the correct bulbs (I believe them to be 12v 2w), that should be fitted to the bulb holders for the speedo and tacho. I recently purchased a pair from our NOC shop, part no.

A long, long time ago I did the wheel alignment on my 2A Commando. At the time I must have been reasonably satisfied with the result because I have never been inspired to check it again.

Does the noc shop have these ? I can’t find them anywhere

With work on the Naviagtor going apace I have come to another typical querky Lightweight Norton question - when I stripped the engine the oil pump had no gasket between it and the crankcase and the two retaining bolts had no washers.  None of my g

I’m well on my way with my Navigator engine rebuild and have come to fitting the heads.   I’ve done the job several times before but hit a mental blank this afternoon.   Mine is a later engine and the heads are spigot-less.

The tail fairing on my '72 Fastback has had a hard life at the hands of previous owners (see pic). Evidently I need to reconstruct the holes for the tail lamp mounting.
