Paint code
Does the silver/grey paint used on the 650SS petrol tank have a paint code or RAL number? I will be getting mine repainted soon and would like the colour to be as original as possible.

Hi I'm going to look at the clutch ('71 commando) this weekend as it's very heavy. I've read there is a plate from RGM that will help but which one am I actually going for? There's loads of them on the site.
Thanks.

Riding my 1953 Dominator 88 in the spring sunshine yesterday I suddenly lost drive. The engine was still running but I had no gears. I'm guess this is a primary drive issue.

I'm putting together the bits of my 'project' 650SS, more or less in the condition that I received them. Firstly to find out what's missing and secondly, to make any 'tweaks' or adjustments before the bits are painted/chromed/powder coated.

Looking to fit the rotor to the bike now but on reading through Frick's Tech Digest I read that the rotors 'have a tendancy to self destruct'. Whilst the obvious option is to replace the one I have is it something that is a problem?

Hello All

Is the red data plate on a 850 Interpol Commando under the seat?
Looking at part number 21773 in the 1959 Jubilee catalogue. Lock nut (for the front wheel) 7/16 x 26 x 3/16. I think 3/16 is the width of the nut and 26 refers to TPI, is 7/16 refer to the nut size? And would that be W, or UNF or BSF?
The speedo drive on my 850 is an original Smiths unit with the type number RS5330/168 and the ratio of 15:12. I understand from the manuals that the correct type should be 5330/171. Can anyone please tell me what the difference is?

While I’ve got the head off my 1972 750 I’d like to check the condition of the valve seats and lap them if needed. I’ve got a general purpose valve spring compressor. Is it necessary to remove the rockers and are any special tools needed?
