Swinging arm stud size

Forums

I have 2 slimline frames, one has got a standard stud, the other has a 16mm (sorry the micrometer says 0.62 inch, so I don't know the imperial size) I believe the heavy duty one was used for a triton. Is this a home made job, or are these available on the market ? It certainly looks beefier, but is it necessary ?

I presume you mean the swinging arm spindle. The 16mm one would certainly be non-standard to suit an aftermarket swinging arm. You would need to find that particular swinging arm to suit the holes or have the holes reduced in diameter to suit the standard spindle. Your local engineering company would give you options in this instance.

Is a bigger diameter spindle necessary? No, the standard one works fine.

Gordon.
