o ignition key for 1952 Roadholder?
I am new to the biking scene. Following the funeral of my dearest friend Uli Helm I have just inherited his 1952 Norton 499cc Roadholder. We have no idea where the ignition key nor the documents.

As a novice Norton owner (3 days from rebuild after being a non-runner) and after 3 days and two massive backfires I think I need to seek advice from wiser owners.
Hi
spotted a tidy black commando overtaking traffic heading east on A47 by Wisbech about lunchtime most likely going to the Norfolk branchs camping weekend judging by the luggage hope the weather keeps up for you all
Has anyone any experience in fitting cylinder liners to a navigator barrel? I have bought the liners from the spares scheme. Are they push out liners or does one need to bore them out?
Cheers

Hi all I'm getting close to getting a bike from Ireland, has anyone imported a bike before and what are the pit falls?
the bike is matching numbers with buff log book, any advice would be much appreciated . Ian
Putting the finishing touches to a 30's plunger Inter. I have a Crankcase Breather union on the L/H Crankcase half just aft of the Crank Shaft. I'm not too sure where it is supposed to go.
Hi, is anyone going to the TT this year?? If so how's about meeting up one day during the week?
we usually go to the classic but this year are 'slumming it' and doing the TT which should be brill.
all best
Gary
Is their a supplier for the connectors that lock into the wiring socket.
Cant seem to copy a like on my phone atm but there's a navi for 4,000 will be interesting to see if it sells!
Definitely no clutch drag. I can stop the clutch centre spinning with my foot and the clutch lever pulled in. And it stays stopped. But yet, it is a bugger to get into gear (or back to neutral) with a stopped rear wheel.
I have a 59 built 99 that is registered as 1960 , I understand that the legislation intended that the build date was the deciding factor. However the DVLA don't see it that way. Has anyone had success in an appeal? ,or is it a waste of time?.
Shoving a pencil or similar into a plug hole to roughly find TDC is pretty straightforward.
With this year marking the 50th Anniversary of the launch of the original Norton Commando, activities are taking place around the world to celebrate the occasion.
Hello All,
I nearly put my oil pump om today. When I took it to pieces (bike not pump) it had no oil pump gasket--I presume that this is standard as the oil passed through a rubber sandwiched between pump and timing cover.
sorry - dud post - failed my first attempt at attaching more than one picture - it seems to be possible only by editing after posting...?
I managed to get my crankcase breather off. It took some heat to convince it to budge. Probably the first time it has been touched in 66 years.
There was debris in there so it needed some attention.
Hi, I have bought a 1929 model 18, apparently with a re-built engine with a high comp piston. It's really difficult to start, but when it does start sounds fantastic.
I took the bars off my 1937 16H today and took the opportunity to take some pictures to illustrate the bracket which provides positive steering when rubber bushes are fitted (following recent questions about this topic).
After reading the article about the Thorspark electronic ignition system in last months edition of Roadholder. I was wondering if anyone has fitted one in the KSF magneto of a Norton?
At least 4 of the pins that hold on the cover to the right hand side of the rear hub have sheared off flush.
Followed the manual, and seeking a double check on timing chain and sprockets. Does the photo look ok; where I have added the white marks ? Many thanks, Ade.
Just checking there should be 2 thrust washers each side of the timing case. On the inside there is also a chamfered ring fat side to thrust washer.
Just out of interest how long can you stand on the kick start against compression? I've just got back from a 10 mile bimble and found I could stand on it (ES2) for about 3 seconds before it went over TDC. I'm 11st (70kgs).
Hi all, wonder whether anyone could help me with identifying the oil tank that came with a project just purchased. Also confusing is that there is no obvious oil return pipe when looking down the filler neck.
What Ho chaps! hope all are well. I wonder if anyone can assist, I have a 961 Sport and despite what I try cannot get used to the handlebar height - probably because I am 6'3".
The Shropshire Branch will now meet at the Bradford Arms in Knockin about 3 miles west of the northern end of the Nessucliffe bypass on the B 4396 If you reach the Knockin Shop you've gone too far.
Fed up with excessive wet sumping and after reading recommendations on the Forum that they are so good, I decided to splash out and buy a new âAndover Nortonâ oil pump.
Hi folks I'm new here ,and new to the world of nortons
