I haven't used my iron1949 inter for just over a year, it runs on R40, have just started to recommission it and found that it has seized solid, I guess through residual oil in the barrel solidifying. The engine had been left on compression.

Is there a definitive camshaft comparison for the pre war singles?

For example cam markings to follower types and the years/models.

I ordered and received volumes 3 and 4 of "The Norton Sales Brochures" from the Club store. They are incredible!

Just ordered volumes 1 and 2 as well.

I have a problem in that I am seeing the same movement of the valves as the cam lift.

Dial test indicator (dti)  to follow the valve and before assembly the cam lift from base circle to top of nose.

I just had a look at the Forum, and there's my bike in the header!  It's the pale bluish silver 1955 Dominator, photo taken at the Essex rally in August.

Hi

The 16H inlet and exhaust camshafts look very similar.

However in the parts book they are listed as :-

# 9043 Exhaust camwheel complete

and

# 9771 Inlet camwheel complete

Hi, I have a 1932 model 18 and I can’t find the frame number. It’s not on the top part of the steering head. Where else is it likely to be?

Have a few questions.
The inner buffers x2 are way too big for the 3/4 dia. inner spacer. I assume these are incorrect for the bike (picture)

I have a 1971 roadster whose engine number etc fall within the range of the PRs, is there any easy way of telling if it is a PR without stripping the engine?

When not running the battery in my 65 Atlas reads 12.9 volts and when it is running and reved up some it goes to 13.7 volts, is this charging?

I am helping a friend with the refurbishment of a dolls head gearbox from a WD Big 4. All 3 bearings need to be replaced. We were surprised to find a double row self aligning bearing on the mainshaft (the one in the outer case).

hello i have a mod 18 engine, i don't have a crankshaft, finally i found one, i found one the connecting rod is 4099 and the crankshaft number is 263s i don't know if it fits  to this engine?, anyone have the crankshaft numbers?

Anyone had troubles with the new thicker rev cables  (before 3mm - now 3,15mm) .

It will not enter into the square section of rev. counter or speedo!
